Creating a Surface Based on Topographic Data

I am trying to create a surface based on topographic survey data. I created a polyline as a boundary for the area I want to focus on. When I try to create the surface I keep getting this error. I was trying to create it based on the boundary line I made. Any suggestions?

Hi Heather,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
Hard to say without seeing your drawing and data. Can you post your drawing and the survey data?

Hi Heather,

the screenshots you provided are not sufficient to tell what could cause the error(s).

Could you save and upload a Log File of the errors as shown below. This may help narrowing down the causes.

Then could you also post a screenshot of your Surface Definition (on the Surface Properties Dialog Box, see below).

Without further details it will be difficult to find the cause.

@heather9UNHT

Would it be possible to click on a contour line, then with the contour still selected, take a screenshot of the Properties Palette? This screenshot will be a good start because it'll reveal info about the selected objected, e.g. TINN, 3D polyline, block, etc., etc.

The screenshots you've uploaded so far don't provide enough information. You can also use the view cube to get a 'Front' view (not orthographic). Upload a screenshot of the straight on Front View.
