You can do a PVI (Point of Vertical Inverse) reports. And PVI with vertical curve reports.

When you say high/low points, do you need :

1) the highest point of every crest curve and the lowest point of every sag curve

2) The highest and lowest elevation of the profile in it's entirety. If this is what you want, do you just need the elevations, or elevations and stations?

@Vincent_Fredon

exactly as @ToddRogers-WPM suggested.

  1. In the Toolspace, go to the Toolbox tab
  2. Navigate to the Reports Manager and then to the Profile collection
  3. Double click PVI_Station
  4. In the Export to XML Report dialog box, select the profile and click OK
  5. Save the report

Thanks a lot to follow this request and for this suggestion but it's not the answer.

PVI is not the same than high and low points.

PVI is not relevant for designers because it's a virtual element. The real points needed to evaluate a geometry is the high and low points. That's why this notion has been added recently in Civil 3D. It was a customer request.

Im not quite sure how your design palette image relates to exporting the High points and low points. What output are we looking for? label, output file?

cogo point along alignment gives the hp lp in point description?

The image was to illustrate that we are able to design a profile line using the high and low points. The request from customer is now to get a listing of those points : Number, High or Low, X, Y, Z.

I must be over simplifying the question, but doesn't the VC report list that? I was wrong the cogo point have no description by default, but can be reported for xyz.

I do see there is no parameter in the vc label style for north or east

Good luck with your client Vincent

something else: under alignment labels you can add profile information with northing & easting

This doesn't answer your initial question, but we found it very helpful to identify in plan and profile the high and low points.

Neither of them are printed in plan production. They are just there for the designer to reference. It is particularly helpful when checking to see if your drainage structures are at the low point of the road.
