Create a polyline using an alignment

Hi all,

I have created an alignment using "Alignment Creation Tool" in civil 3D. How can I create a polyline using this alignment ?

Thank you.

One way is to offset the alignment (using autocad offset command), offset the resulting polyline the same distance back to alignment location.

Erase original offset polyline.

You can xplote the alignment two times and it will transform into lines and you can join those lines with the JOIN command.

Why would you do this - the OFFSET method suggested by @Anonymous is far simpler

Hi Joe,

May be not a good practice but when I do drafting, I prefer to off alignment layer and work with a polyline.

Thank you.

That's cool nimcha2001, is it an offset or are you wanting to manipulate the align itself?

The edit alignment tool bar has tools similar to edit poly lines.

Offset alignment are very useful drafting tool if you want your line work tied to the alignment
