Creat 3D polyline from block and 2d poly

Hi,

1)Is it possible to construct a 3d polyline from 2d polyline  which passes thru insertion point of block for the Z value (attachment drawing). I need to create 3d breaklines  for surface creation.

2) Alternative question. Is it possible to convert blocks from attachment to Points with XYZ value?

Feature Lines are easier.  Convert your polyline to a FL.

While feature lines give greater co9ntrol over elevations and "curves" and such, I find 3dpolys to be easier - just snap to what you want and it's done.

 

Look at the Modify ribbon tab, Design panel, open it up/pull it down to find Convert 2D to 3D polyline (command: _AeccConvertPlines).

 

I'm pretty sure you can create COGO points from blocks. Search this forum you will find the answer. I think it may require a lsp routine?

Hi @igor.horvat 

 

if the ultimate goal is to add them to the surface, you do not need to create 3d Polylines! your drawing already contains Blocks with a Z elevation, so you can simply add the Blocks to the Surface as a definition.

then to fine tune the surface triangulation, add 2D Polylines as Proximity Breaklines. So long as the Polylines are touching the surface points, and the surface points are generated from the Blocks. these Polylines will automatically re-triangulate and inherit the block elev at its vertices. (be careful NOT to use proximity if the Polyline vertex is not going through a block or a know elev point)

I usually have a lot of this blocks in a drawing and if you draw it point by point it's hard work. I'm trying to find a way to select all points (blocks) and then select polylines that passes thru the block insertion point so the 3D poly inherit the Z value from the block and create a vertex at that coordinate.

I have a software that do this job but I need to input points not blocks. But now Mr. @samir_rezk enlighten me with his solution and I'm good with his workflow. Thank you for your help all of you. 😉
