Why is it that this analytical dummy keeps giving me this stupid answer:

Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016

If you want to contact Customer Support to follow up on this issue, please provide the error report number for tracking purposes.

I've been getting this response for the last several weeks. The first time it came up with this. I followed the instructions and installed the upgrade. NOW, it's just irritating. Is anybody there? Hello support people. Why is it that this software crashes at least 6 to 10 a day. I don't have issues like this with Office or even Microstation!

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Discussion Forums. If the support you're looking for is from Autodesk. You need to go through you're Maintenance Subscription. This is mostly a peer to peer support forum. Although Autodesk employees do sometimes join in, they don't regularly monitor this group. The only one they do monitor is Installation & Licensing.

What you're seeing as an "answer" to your CER is an automatic response from the server monitoring the submissions. I'd suggest you the About command and check the SP version in the upper left hand corner to verify the latest SP is installed. It may be and the auto-response system may just not be picking it up.

I'd suggest that you start a Support Request through your Maintenance Subscription. Basic level Subscription allows web support. Higher levels allow phone support. If you haven't been keeping track of the CER numbers but did provide an email address. They can track it through that. If you haven't done either you can start now.

Without any knowledge of your problems I can only offer the generic advice to Repair and/or Reinstall your software.

I have a post as well, I am having very similar issues with C3D 2016 - two separate machines, my own and now using somoene else's attempting to be productive.  Autodesk never responds to the error reports, except for twice out of 10-20 crashes a day for over a month.  The situation actually seemed to get worse upon installing the service packs suggested.

I don't understand the seeming instability of Civil 3D.  Our tech person at the retailer we use, "surgically" as he called it, removed all knowledge of autodesk from my previous machine spent a whole afternoon doing so and reinstalling, and an hour after I started working it started crashing again. His only suggestion was to flatten the machine and try again ... however. Now I am on another machine, different project, brand new install.  the other user never crashes, yet I've had 10 crashes since lunch time.  I have gotten nothing accomplished today except rebooting and re-opening Civil3D!
