Corridor Shrinkwrap makes gaps 2023.2.3

We recently updated to 2023.2.3.

Previous to this we could make small 1'-5' Gaps in our Corridor Regions and the Surface Shrinkwrap would ignore these gaps and continue the surface. 

Since the update, the Shrinkwrap has now constrained itself to the extremely tight limits of the corridor itself. This has caused several Previously Designed Surfaces to be Fouled up. Is there a way to "loosen" the Shrinkwrap to its previous functionality?

I'm surprised you guys had luck with shrinkwrap before with small gaps. We always have to have seamless regions to get that type of boundary to work on our end regardless of C3D version.

I like the idea of a corridor surface build parameter that controls it though...C3D Idea board?

Shrinkwrap Boundaries are super duper finicky.  If your corridor has any errors, bowties, or any other "malfunctions", the Shrinkwrap boundary gets ignored.  Now, I suppose this worked on your corridor just fine and once you updated the software, the same exact corridor, untouched and without any changes made to it, turned out an undesirable boundary, correct?

I have not loaded that update yet, can you unload the update or no?  If so, can you unload it and re-open the same drawing and see if the works properly?

The update can only be removed by uninstalling Civil 3D 2023 and starting over. However, we have loaded it on to 100 machines and it is blowing every Corridor apart. 

You are correct that it was fine until the .2.3 Update.

It worked like a charm for 15 years! I based all of my Corridor Workflows on this "flaw."  I will keep digging to see if there was some extraneous Variable that allowed this. I'll definitely get back to this thread if I find it.

Regarding the corridor surface boundary, if you use Add Automatically and pick one of your corridor feature lines (like Daylight), then the surface works the way you're asking. If there are gaps between regions, corridor shrinkwrap shrinkwraps each region but using Daylight doesn't.

Yes, I just discovered the Automatic Boundary. Which lead me to what I’m calling the Build-a-Boundary Feature.

If you select Definition in the Automatic Boundary, you can add additional FL Codes and Stationing to create custom Boundaries for your Corridor Surfaces.

@tcorey :  I have CIVIL 3d 2024.  The Add Automatically option does not show up when I right-click the surface name on the Boundaries tab. 

The CIVIL 3D documentation states:

Click the Boundaries tab.
Right-click the corridor surface to which you want to add a boundary.
To automatically add a boundary to a corridor with a single baseline, click Add Automatically <code name>.
Note: Only point codes that form a pair of feature lines in the corridor are listed, for example daylight and ETW.
Note: The Add Automatically option to add boundaries Automatically is not available if more than one baseline is used in the corridor. In that case, select Corridor Extents As Outer Boundary, to automatically add a boundary for each corridor surface.

I only have one baseline, so I should be able to access the Add Automatically option, but the only ones that show are add Corridor Extents, Add Interactively, and Add from Polygon.  

Any suggestions on how to access the Add Automatically tab?  (Thanks).

Re: my previous post about the Add Automatically option not showing up...

I created a boundary using the "add interactively" option.  After some edits, the interactive boundary needed an update. I removed the boundary to create a new one, and then the "Add Automatically" options appeared in the list.
