Corridor Design - Link Slope to nth intersection of surface

I want to create a MTEXT and using Fields to obtain Mean Slope of a surface in to the drawing, but whenever I choose object then the surface, my civil 3D either crashes or will not respond and I have to force close it.

Is this have something with my system or that is not possible in Civil 3D.
