Copy Sample Lines (Group) to another dwg

Hello,

we do a lot of road design using civil 3D. As our main dwg's often become large files due to the size and the matter of detail of the projects, we tend to split our dwg's up using data shortcuts.
For example, we develop our road design (surface, alignment, corridor) in one drawing and then generate our section views in another drawing.

So we generate our layouts in 2 different drawings. The sample lines in the main drawing are used to show the location of the sections, the ones in the drawing of the section views are used to generate those section views.

Subsequently, we have to generate our sample line group two times (one group in each drawing).

My question is: is it possible to copy sample line groups from one drawing to another?

(Now we recreate the group in each drawing, which is time consuming and increases the possibility of mistakes).

Thx!

P.S. the latest version I work in is 2018

I not sure there is anything you can do in 2018 but starting in I believe 2019 you can data shortcut sample line groups.

I think using this method you can reduce the time.

We will be upgrading our version soon. I will definitely check out this new feature.

Thanks!
