Contours from Geotiff DEM is 1 meter off in plan

I struggle with a DEM surface. I have generated contours from the same DEM in Global mapper and QGIS and they align exact, when importing the same DEM and plotting contours in civil they are 1 meter off in plan. The DEM is a Geotiff with 1x1m resolution.

When importing the same grid in ESRI ASCII grid format it aligns better, but i would prefer Geotiff as a general workflow.

Any ideas?

Hi Göran,
Maybe it's >>>This Shift<<<.

@Goran_Kingkong

Generate the contours from an FDO connection which is from the Map3D toolset.

In regards to @Pointdump‘s link, generating topographic contours from a DEM, a raster, may reveal whether the shift is due to the Civil’s inability (or unwillingness) to use the middle of a pixel or a corner. In contrast to C3D, the M3D toolset and its functionality is more closely aligned with GIS programs such as Global Mapper and QGIS.

Can you share your DEM so it can be evaluated?

Can you make surfaces from a DEM with FDO connection?

I got this answer from autodesk tech support:

After checking this issue with the development team. The issues seems to be a bug in the software and I have created the report on this issue and shared it with the development team.

The issue is now logged with the development team and might be fixed in the upcoming updates or versions. Unfortunately, I can't really say when or how this might be adjusted though.

This is an old thread that clearly shows Civil 3D is performing this function incorrectly, yet no response from Autodesk? You must know about this issue.
