Contour Label Color?

Not applicable
Please excuse my french, but this one has been kicking my ass all day!

I have a Surface Style setup to display contours.
The Major Contour is on layer CONT-MRJ and color set to ByLayer
The Minor Contour is on layer CONT-MNR, and color set to ByLayer

Layer CONT-MJR color is Yellow
Layer CONT-MNR color is Red.

The contours look great.

Now for the Contour Labels. I want the labels to get their color (ByLayer) from the CONT-MJR & CONT-MNR layers.

Example: Major Contours are Yellow and I want the Major Contour Label to be Yellow also, but If I change the CONT-MJR layer color to Blue then I want the Major Contour Label also to be Blue.

No matter what I do, I can't get the Contour Labels to adopt the color from the CONT-MJR & CONT-MNR layers. I've tried everything I can think of with no success. Is this possible? Hopefully I'm just a moron and missed something.

Anyone have a solution for this?

Here's what I did.

My surface style was the same as yours.

In the contour label style for Major I set the Layer under the general tab
to match the cont-mjr and minor layers.
You also need to make sure that the colour of the components on the layout
tab are set to bylayer. Then it will inheirt your colour settings.
It is possible that in the indidvidual components they have been set to a
different colour as well so make sure you check there. If you posted a
drawing the with surface style and the contour label style we could probably
find it fairly quickly.
