Can you share the DXF file? What coordinate system is the DXF supposed to be in and what system is set in your drawing.?

Those are the coordinates in the DXF file. It's an ASCII file so you can open it in Notepad. Whoever created it in whatever software. That's the way it was created. Since there are no physical objects in the drawing so there's no way to scale it. IOW The file is coming in exactly as it was written. The issue is with the coordinates in the file not scaling.

Can you ask the creator to produce a DXF in the system you need?

Todd,

I don't think so. I looked at the DXF file and all the coordinates are literally 100,5 with varying decimal values. The site is only 0.016 units from North to South. I think the DXF was created incorrectly.

Hi @NIRANDOAL,
Thanks for posting your drawing.
In Settings, the Drawing Units show as Feet. But I suspect the Units in your drawing are Degrees. That would explain why the numbers are so small. (And also places your project in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia.)
You might be able to fix this yourself by transforming the drawing to a coordinate system that uses Meters or Feet Units.

Dave,

If anything the coordinates in the DXF might be in degrees. The coordinates shown on import match the coordinates in the DXF file. I don't know any way to transform a DXF on import. If it can be confirmed that the coordinates in the DXF file are degrees. The drawing might be transformed after import. The original system would have to be known.

Accepted solution

@NIRANDOAL,
I've transformed your Degree Units drawing to Metric EPSG:32647 WGS84/UTM zone 47N. Here's the steps:
1. Open DXF and re-save as DWG.
2. Assign LL84 Geographic Coordinate System.
3. MAPEXPORT linework, being sure to add ELEVATION as Object Data. In the last Tab I also Transformed to EPSG:32647.

Drawing attached.

Edit:
Step 4. Open a new drawing and assign EPSG:32647 coordinate system. MAPIMPORT the shapefile from step 3.
