CRUSH 1 - AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF CIVIL 3D 2017
Computer Info: Seven years old Dell Vostro
Operation System: Wiindows 7 (64-bit)
Capacity: 16 GB
Crushing Process: It was working fine at first when we used the computer as a server and stored the network license file in the C drive. We tried to move the license file to another location and failed due to compatibility (The system was too old). But, the original license had been already deleted. Then, the computer started to stop working saying that there were some errors found in C drive and starts to check if C drive is working correctly. When it is done checking and could not 'recover', the computer tries to reboot in recovery mode, then shut down. When we checked the hardware by pressing F12 during the start up, no problem was found in hardware.
This problem was solved, after we managed to uninstall all the components of Civil 3D 2017. The computer started to act normally.
CRUSH 1 - DURING THE INSTALLATION OF CIVIL 3D 2017
On the same computer, we downloaded a standalone Civil 3D 2017 and started to install it. The computer stops working during the installation and started to check the C drive again. After going through the same process, it shuts down.
At this point, we feel that we can no longer install Civil 3D 2017 on this computer. But, we need it for CAD work.
This morning, another laptop, which has been working fine while using Civil 3D 2017 showed the same message saying that the computer C drive has errors after waking up from the sleep mode. This computer was not affected during the license location switch out since it was used in a trial mode. It started up normally and working fine so far. However, we are a little nervous now if all the computer that have Civil 3D 2017 are affected.
We'd appreciate your input on this. Please share if you had similar issues and what your solutions have been.
Thank you.

Dear Friend,
It seems like a system requirement problem of your computers rather than a civil 3D issue. Did the minimum specs satisfy with your computers.
Further how about the free space on your C: drive. If it is too low it can cause problems as well.
Also I hope a check disk sometimes will help you.

How did you come to this conclusion? The only specs @Anonymous mentioned were Win7x64 and 16GB of RAM, both of which meet or exceed the requirements.
Having said that, a seven year old Vostro probably doesn't have an SSD, or a processor that is up to task, but even so, C3D should install and run, even if it's slow.
We have used Civil 3D for many years on this computer and this time we had no problem until the license location change out (, which failed as I mentioned earlier). So we are not sure if it is a system requirement. We are also working with an IT person at the same time to double check on the computer itself. If no one had similar issues, we'll dig more on the health of the computer side. Thank you.
