Clipping out internal area in the middle of images over layed with other images

I would like to create a polyline in the middle of an image to cut an area that is of low quality compared to the rest of the image, however every tool I have tried in civil 3D 2018 has clipped everything outside of the selected area. I am looking for a way to do the exact opposite. I want to clip everything inside of the area. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,  If you select the image after it is clipped there will be a grip that looks like an arrow at the midpoint of one of the image sides. If you click this arrow it will invert the clipping of the image.
