oke so this is what i found

One of my other Civil3D plugin's is creating in the current user registry

the Autodesk\Extensions key with 2 value's

DWORD "DoNotShowExeptionMessage" = 0 and DWORD "MonitorAllExceptions" = 0

If you delete the key a startup the bridge moduler will work or change those values to 1`and the crash does not happen any more.

and the bridge module will work.

very strange but i have my workarround.

There may not be one. The only forum they officially monitor is Installation & Licensing. They pop in when they can and do what they can but this is a Peer to Peer support forum Having never used 2016 nor the Bridge Module I can't offer any help.

Are you on Subscription (Maintenance)? If so you (or your CAD Manger) can start a Support Request on the Subscription site. If you don't have access. Ask your reseller to get you in.

I just installed the most recent SP for AutoCAD that was released 3 weeks ago but just showed up on my manager task bar.  After installation, I am now getting the -REX startup failed too.

See if this is any help

AutoCAD SP1 breaks the autoloader. You don't see any problem until something is changed. See: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-C2... for the Hotfix.

Thanks Allen but still didn't work unfortunately and the hotfix version numbers were not right as I did not have either one of the version numbers present but I did take the AcAutoloader and save it as a bak and put the one from zip file in.   That number is correct for the fix suggested.

@nkg2 Please look in the registry off the current_user\software\Autodesk\Extentions\2016

check if the dwors values DoNotShowExeptionMessage and MonitorAllExceptions are there if so give them a value of 1

If those values are not there but other values delete them.

let me know what happens.

Roger

Probably didn't work because the hotfix is for SP1. The current update (2017.1) is something different and people are getting them confused it seems. Know it confused me for a bit trying to figure them out.

Yes you are correct.  Same error in 2017 Civil3d after applying the SP1 update for AutoCAD2017.

@Anonymous the Regedit worked for me; however, I really hate having to go to regedit to do that because if a hotfix comes to fix the issue; will the hotfix revert the registry back to where it was?  How do I know specifically that the hotfix went to fix this issue since it is typically bundled with other issues?  Rhetorical questions of course but you understand I am sure.

@nkg2 Well i share you're thoughts but autodesk software is so crapy that you have to fall back to this kind off methodes.

We use a user environment tool to manage shortcuts and settings for users so we can fix it easy, but if you manage a small environment and don't have tools you may need te fall back to Windwos policies GPP.

In my situation i got the error when loading a custom profile from a netwerk lokation with causes civil3d to create for some reason these regkey's

i think these regkey's are debug key's for de dev team and are for some reason triggert.

nice that my solution worked for you!.

keep sharing

This is my first post in ANY forum so please forgive any mistakes I may make.

I do not have the Bridge module or Revit so some of the suggestions I found didn't apply. My message was as follows:

I noticed the text in red (above) and ran a search on my C drive and performed the following procedure:

  1. I closed Civil 3D 2016
  2. I replaced the c3d.cuix file from here:
     C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D 2016\enu\Support
  3. With the c3d.cuix file from here:
     C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\C3D\UserDataCache\Support
  4. I opened Civil 3d 2016 and my problem was solved.

I hope this helps someone else.
