Civil Reports Not Working

I have multiple reports that are not working or are being executed incorrectly when I try to execute them and I believe that it might be an Internet Explorer issue that I hope someone else has had and knows how to fix.

I have both C3D 2022 and 2023 installed on my desktop but do not have internet explorer installed on because it is no longer supported.  When I go to the toolbox and click reports manager, I am trying to create a surface report but I get an error that says the file can't be opened by the system.  However a report is generated but it is just a bunch of point Northing and Eastings.  I will post of picture of the error message and an example of what I am trying to produce.

The second report issue I am having on my desktop is when I try to create a Select Materials.xls Volume Report it will just automatically create a Total Cut/Fill Volume Report and not break it down into individual materials like I want it to.

Both these processes work on my laptop that only has 2022 installed and still has Internet Explorer installed on it.

You can use Project Explorer to run those reports, but you have to subscribe to AEC Industry Collection, not mere Civil 3D.

Is it saving the reports?  If you open the save file is it OK? I'm usually a bit slow on updates, so not running 2023 yet.

HI @Kyle.Obeirne CAn you try to apply the latest Civil 3D 2022 updates and see if it helps.?

It does save a html file but when you open it, it appears to just be a bunch of point northing and eastings.

Both 2022 and 2023 are up to date.

Are you an administrator on the PC?  Best guess its trying to save the file to a location where you don't have write access, so you are getting that error.  

Looking at the report manager, it refers to this %reportdir%.  There is most likely a registry key controlling this, but I haven't been able to locate it in the short period I have available.

After you install the C3D 2022.2.1 Update., make sure that you download new versions of the three .xsl files from the Autodesk Knowledge Network and add them to the same locations:

• earthwork.xsl (default address: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2022\enu\Data\Quantities Report Style Sheets\xsl)
• NumberFormatting.xsl (default address: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2022\enu\Data\Quantities Report Style Sheets\scripts)
• StationFormatting.xsl (default address: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2022\enu\Data\Quantities Report Style Sheets\scripts)

Thanks for the advice.  The earthwork XSL style sheet works but in my folder I have three options Earthwork, Mass Haul-Multiple Materials, and Select Material.  The Select Material XSL Stylesheet is the one I would really like to see and update for.  Did Autodesk discontinue this style sheet?  I know the date is very old but it works on my laptop that still has Internet Explorer installed on it.  Which leads me to believe that it is not an Autodesk Issue.

I'm going way out on a limb here, and it might not be accurate at all, but I compared the old Earthwork.XSL file to the new version the major difference is the last section after the end of the </xsl:template> msxsl:script is removed.

That is lines 377-444

And xmlns:earthworkUtils="urn:schemas-earth"  is removed from line 2

I would advise you to back up the  Select Materials.xsl before you try it, but what about deleting the msxsl script from that file, lines 216-283? and xmlns:earthworkUtils="urn:schemas-earth"  from line 2 and giving it a shot?
