Civil 3D Profile View Vertical Lines???

I have a profile view and I can not turn off the many vertical lines. I suspect they represent nodes from my alignment. I have looked in the profile view styles but can't find any setting to turn it off. I attached a screen shot of the profile.

Wow, if this is from the horizontal geometry points, you've got a bunch!
Anyway, to turn those off go to the Profile View Style, Display Tab, scroll
down to "Grid at Horizontal Geometry Point" and turn off the display of the.
These may also be "Grid at Sample Line Stations" which can be turned off
here as well.

just a thought ...

It kinda looks like you're getting a line at every vertical grade point along the existing ground surface profile. Is it possible that there is a profile band set to show VGP locations, and, it's height is the same as the profile view, making the band lines appear like they're grid lines? (yeah, i know it's a stretch)

I've tried turning off the grid geometry in the profile view style and VGP locations in the profile band syle. I'm thinking it is a problem with Civil 3D. I haven't been using Civil 3D long, but I don't like it so far. It runs slowly, crashes lots, and creates huge files.

Would you be willing to post, or email, your drawing?

The cad file is 30meg and apparently this forum doesn't allow file sizes that big. I tried to xml the profile view but it only xmls the associated alignment.

A coworker of mine had the same problem. To fix it we created another profile view in a clean drawing and then copied the style into the original file and then delete the problem profile view style.

I've tried the fix and workarounds listed but no luck. Any additional ideas.

I'm running 2007
