Civil 3d Landxml

Hey guys!

Could someone tell me why the excavator operator couldn't see my TIN surface in the machine? what I did was simply a model of the whole terrain - ditches, roads, krusings etc.

First attempt we gave only the LandXML with the surface,
Second attempt we gave the same surfaces, but also added feature lines...

What is the method step by step in exporting my model to the excavator? Could someone give me a simple example step by step?

Michal,

Welcome to the Forum.

Machine Control is usually proprietary. If it's Trimble Machine Control, you'll need two files, SVD and SVL, which stands for Site Vision Design and Site Vision Linework. The SVD file is converted from the Trimble TTM (Surface) and the SVL is a converted DXF file. Trimble Business Center HCE, even the free edition, will convert a Civil 3D Surface (DTM) and LInework (DXF) to the necessary format.

I would imagine that Topcon works similarly, but I don't have any experience with Topcon.

Topcon uses a proprietry tp3 file which can be created using the free Topcon 3D-Office programme which can import various formats for linework, control points, points, surfaces and alignments

3D-Office can import dwg (I would think as triangle faces), LandXML and others for surfaces.

with Trimble or Leica you can convert the TIN surface to 3Dface  in a DXF file.
