Civil 3D Freezes and Resets Fonts

Civil 3D froze, my screens went black, and it came back, but my fonts were messed up on all files. They remain the same as before when someone else opens the file. I have updated and reinstalled Civil 3D, as well as reset my computer. Is there a setting to change the way text displays?

What version? If you're on a current version, try setting the GFXDX12 to 0.

That didn't seem to work. Thank you!

It sounds like a graphics issue.  I would start with turning off hardware acceleration.

Type in 3DCONFIG and turn the Hardware Acceleration slider at the top to off.

Thanks.

What type of font are you working with?  .SHX or Truetype?  I have seen glitchy truetype fonts before such as the WSDOT Bridgetech font.  Only way to fix it was to restart the computer.

The font I was using no longer existed on the newest Windows update. I copied the font style into a shared folder from a computer with an older Windows version and added it to my current Windows Fonts folder (C:\Windows\Fonts). Restarted the computer and it worked.
