Civil 3D Corridor Daylight Subassemblies Not Appearing in Target Mapping or Codes

I’m running into an issue where daylight subassemblies are not being recognized at all in my corridor.

I have an assembly (used in multiple corridor regions) that includes typical components (lane, curb, sidewalk), and I’ve added daylight subassemblies such as LinkSlopeToSurface and BasicSideSlopeCutDitch at the outside edge of the sidewalk.

However:

  • The daylight subassemblies do not appear in Set All Targets (no surface target option shows up)
  • They do not appear in the Corridor Properties → Codes tab (no Daylight, Cut, or Fill codes generated)
  • They do not show up in section views or affect the corridor surface
  • The rest of the corridor (lanes, sidewalks, etc.) behaves correctly and targets properly

What I’ve already verified/tried:

  • Correct subassemblies are being used (from Tool Palettes, not custom)
  • Subassemblies are attached correctly and pointing outward
  • Corridor is fully rebuilt
  • Corridor regions are using the correct, updated assembly
  • Code Set Style includes Daylight/Cut/Fill codes (but they never appear in the corridor)
  • Rebuilt the assembly from scratch multiple times
  • Tried different daylight subassemblies (LinkSlopeToSurface, BasicSideSlopeCutDitch)

It seems like the daylight subassemblies are not solving or being recognized at all, but I can’t determine why.

Any insight into what could prevent daylight subassemblies from appearing in both Target Mapping and the Codes list would be greatly appreciated.

Result I'm trying to replicate in Section Views and Surfaces: https://youtu.be/3b7qQF3A48kv

Accepted solution

Hi @Greyknight45GHY, you just need to go to the "Surface"  tab and you'll find the surface target options.

I hope this helps. Best regards,

That is EXACTLY what I needed. Wow, I never knew that was even there. Such a simple fix for a silly problem. Much appreciated, seriously. I've been scratching my head for a full day now. Thank you so much for your help and time!

So you dont feel so bad, depending on what version you used in the past,  the surfaces used to be set on the same location as offsets and elevations.  Unfortunately,  the versions all run together,  and I dont remember when that changed, perhaps in one of the 2022 updates.
