Your laptop is probably overkill for Civil 3D.

Thanks. I will check the link you sent. Why do you say the laptop is overkill?

Yes, quite suitable. If you had the laptop with the Nividia A2000 it would have been a little better, it's what I have in the workstation that I have.

I use Civil3D with 2 monitors and I cannot imagine trying to use it with only one, productivity is so much better when you do not continually have to open and close windows. Unless you are travelling a lot, having a dedicated workstation is preferable to a laptop.

If anything that may be a bit overkill for Civil 3d (although a different video card would be an upgrade, as previously said.

Civil 3d is a mostly single threaded program, so single thread performance is paramount.  Your I9-12900H has a single thread rating of 3869 according to: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i9-12900H&id=4728.  Thats pretty good.

Civil 3D is still just AutoCAD. My 14" gaming laptop from 2016 with an i7 7700HQ runs Civil 3D no problem.
