Civil 3D Command line

When my program updates, my command line settings are reset to whatever the default of the day happens to be. I am not a complex man. I prefer my command line docked below my icons at the top of my screen, about 4 inches long, AND STILL BE ABLE TO DISPLAY MY LIST DIALOG BOX. Can someone please help me before I bludgeon an innocent bystander with my T-square?

Are you saving your Workspace and making it your default Workspace?

Try changing the LOCKUI system variable.  If you dock your command line you can set LOCKUI to 1, which will lock all docked panels.

Thanks, Brian. I'll try that and see what happens on the next update. My personal preference is a smaller, floating command line and F2 to display as a separate window. It was great yesterday. Today... not so much. I've wasted too much time on it this morning already.

Its highly annoying, I have looked into writing code to force the command line to a specific location / orientation but have not been successful.

No. I didn't get the answer I needed. I respect the members of our user group. I've been a member a long time. Just once I'd like someone from Autodesk to step in an offer a definitive solution to a problem that they created rather than our group having to spend production time hauling up just one more anchor.

If you want a fix to a bug, then posting in the forums isnt going to get that for you.  I would suggest running through the support system.  I know that I see people who have issues with their command line staying put all the time.  And I've tried to help troubleshoot with the based on the settings I've used always to no avail.  I'm probably jinxing myself, but the only time I've ever not had my command line stay where I put it is when it is free floating.  Which is why I dont free float it.
