Civil 3d 2012 ...make a c3d table use a smaller area of my map?

How can I make a civil 3d table
use a smaller area of my map?
That is have less space above
and below the text in each row,
so the printed table takes up less
room on the map. My Table Fonts are
all ready as small as possible.

From a non-Autodesk employee perspective, the problem appears to be a forced buffer around the text similar to the offset applied for background masking. This issue isn't limited to just the 2012 version of the software. These offsets can be set in an AutoCAD table style but not a Civil 3D table style.

Thank you for posting the screenshots for clarification.

One of our Civil 3D specialists tested this in 2012 and 2015, but could only accomplish what you're trying to do in 2015. As @C3D_TomR mentioned, you may be able to control this by adjusting the AutoCAD Table Style. The adjustment is tricky, as the title, data, and header all need to be the same size. (Again, this only worked in 2015, not in 2012.)

Yes, the spacing between the text and the top / bottom of cells are hardcoded for Civil object related tables.

I think that would be a great idea to submit that on the IdeaStation.

I am sure a that  topic will also open up some other interesting enhancements users would like to see for tables as well.
