check relationship between surface

I recently adopted a dwg created by someone else. S/he make tonnes of surface and backup surface may or may not be useful which makes the file supper big, I have a hard time move around. So I am trying to delete some surfaces. But before doing that I wonder is there away to take a quick look of whether or not if a surface might be a dependent of another?

For example in excel when you click on a cell, you could Trace Precendents or Trace Dependents to see if that cell is related to another.

Is there an analog in AutoCAD to this?

You can check for pasted surfaces.

Not sure whether it is quick enough though.
