Change Insertion Point of Pipe Network Part

Hi all,

I've been trying for months now to understand part builder. My primary goal is to be able to change the insertion point of inlet structures to the center of the front wall on the inside in order to line the wall up to the back of curb along a roadway.

I need this because we need the structure's rim elevation to be read at the back of curb. However, if we move the insertion point to the back of curb, the structure is placed incorrectly in section view. I can manage one or the other perfectly, but I'd prefer to have the entire process be dynamic.

Is there a quick way to change the parts within part builder to resolve these two competing issues?

Hi @trnolen8KL92

Can you please explain what you mean by the structure is not inserted correctly in section, screenshot will be helpful to illustrate.
Also, make sure the structure style for section is a Sliced Solid for an accurate representation (a section boundary might not display correctly)

This is what we end up with in section view if we place the center of the box on the back of the curb.

This placement is desired because C3D reads the rim elevation at the insertion point which happens to be the center of the box in this case. Ideally we could move the insertion point to the front inside face of the box with Part Builder in order to both read the rim elevation at the back of curb AND position the box correctly in section view.

(We're aware that an expression could be written that calculates an adjusted rim elevation based on the surface elevation and the slope of the greenspace, but this unfortunately doesn't work for us. The greenspace slope varies in some instances.)
