Cant - Single Rail Track

Hello,

I have a problem when I create the section views from a corridor. I am using the 'RailSingleTrackCANT_w_ExtraLayers' subassembly.

I have created a simple alignment (tangent, right curve, tangent, left curve and tangent). Then, I have calculated the cant using the wizard. The profile used is very simple (elevation = +10 in the entire alignment).

Conclusions:

Left curve: see image 01. Everything OK.

Right curve: see image 02. Cant problem. Low Side Rail is not at +10 elevation.

Next step. I have used the 'RailDoubleTrack' subassembly. Conclusions:

Left curve: see image 03. Everything OK.

Right curve: see image 04. Everything OK.

Why does the cant fail in right curves using the single track subassembly? If I change the pivot method in right curve from low side rail to high side rail, I get what I am looking for, but this is not a good solution. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Regards.

Hi @MBAlonso

thanks for reporting this behavior to us.

I saw last time something very similar. It came up, that it was just a drawing corruption. I went through all options in the wizard and it started to work. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out what was the reason for the issue.

Getting back to your case, is that possible to share the drawing? I would check it on my end.

Hi Tomas,

Thank you very much for your message. I have kept thinking about the matter but I can not find a solution. Also, I have been reviewing the PKT file (in case the error was there).

I attach the files as you told me (including the PKT files I have used).

Regards.

Hi @MBAlonso

thanks for the samples.

I checked it and I can reproduce the behavior. In my opinion, the problem lies somewhere in the RailSingleTrackCANT_w_ExtraLayers.pkt subassembly definition.

I recreated assembly by using the subassembly RailSingle and everything works fine. Please find the drawing in the attachment.

I will inform redirect the behavior to our Development Team for further investigation.

Hi Tomas,

Thank you very much for your help.

I have been working with the file you attached and it works very well, but it would be great to have those extra layer included in the first PKT file.I hope it is available soon.

Regards.

Hello Tomas,

I have just checked the file using the subbassembly included in Civil 3D 2020 and it works fine.

Regards.
