I'm trying to set my location so I can get the geolocation ribbon in my work space and have a map of the area I'm working on. I go to the Insert tab, click set location, choose from map. The areal loads, but here's where I run into issues. Regardless of what I search, whether it be an address, or lat long coordinates, it will say searching and never find anything. The map also says I can right click on the map to set my location, so I zoom into the street, but right clicking does nothing.
Any solutions are greatly appreciated.

Mathew,
Geographic Location is meant to be used only in Vanilla AutoCAD. It is wonky and problematic in Civil 3D and Map 3D. If you really need to use it, then use it <<<This Way>>>.

I am also having problems with my set location in AutoCAD2016. I am a little confused. I went to the link you attached and it shows a YouTube on how to and its in Civil 3D. In your response you say that this is a plan vanilla AutoCad process but not in the video?
Vincent,
In Vanilla AutoCAD the Location Panel Tools work very well. But don't use them in Civil 3D and Map 3D. Use _MAPCSASSIGN or set your Coordinate System in Drawing Settings.
In Jerry Bartels' video he cancels out before completing the _GEOGRAPHICLOCATION command because he is using Civil 3D.
