Cannot convert autocad points to civil 3d points

I am trying to create the autocad points to civil 3d points to generate a surface in civil 3d.

But i am not able to create them. (see the attached picture for reference)

Those points are actually blocks, with the name CROSS, question is do they contain additional information?

You can use the blocks to create a surface. Just expand the object type and select blocks

When trying to convert what does the command line say?

AHA!

the default point creation has elevation and description set to manual so you would be expected to enter this on the command line. you don't want that.

Home tab>>>create ground data panel>>points>>>point creation tools>> set elevations and description to automatic and provide a description.

I also suggest the way by Jackson.

But you can use data extraction to export these AutoCAD data and filter the points details to a csv file and then import back to Civil 3D.

The png shows a properties pane, and it shows that its a block, in the misc portion.

As @Joe-Bouza already said you have block references, not plain AutoCAD Points.

To get quickly a surface use Blockreferences for surface creation directly.

I prefer to export Blockreferences to an ASCII file using _DATAERXTRACTION, then use the point file later to create the surface.

When i select the points. command line shows an error that its an invalid selection set. and ask me again to select the points.

I cannot import all points from AutoCAD.

To create a surface from blocks. the command surface for me is not activated.

First make sure you have the correct file format of the text file.

Then when importing points close the text file if it is already open.

In the preview area it will only show 20 points. But it will import all points.
