Can't open file with many layouts

I have to open a file to copy their viewports and I have been waiting for an hour and still have the blue spinning wheel for my cursor. Is there anything I can do to be able to open the file or do I just have to continue waiting forever?

Does the file have XREFs in it?

I would try copying the file to your local machine, disconnecting your internet connection, then opening it.

I have many problems where being connected to a network slow down my program. (Also, using good XREF practices could help prevent this in the future)

Hi @Nick_Burkett,

As well as @CodeDing's useful suggestion. Try opening via the Recover command, this may help fix any issues during the opening process and speed things up.

If you know the name of the layout tab you need to copy you can copy that directly into your DWG. Right click any tab and do "From Template", choose the dwg to copy from, then choose the layout tab you need.
