Can't Move Line to Tangent of Circle

I suddenly can no longer move a line segment to be tangent with a circle.  It snaps to some crazy positions.  I do not use Osnaps, rather type in tan in the command line.  Any ideas on this?

Does the line have the same starting Z value for the start, end and is the the same as the center of circle?

yes, all z values are zero.  I have used this same technique so many times, but all of a sudden I can't.

I have not known what you are trying to have ever been possible in C3D.

However, you can draw a line from the center of your circle and perpendicular to your line and then move your line to the intersection of the circle and the new line drawn and it will be be tangent.

I am not familiar with MOVEing a line to be tangent, either. I can draw one tangent to one or two circles. When you move it, where do you snap to on the line? I just tried it using midpoint and it went to some point on the circle, but not tangent.

i have a line segment at a specific taper, that line has a tangent to the curb return radius that I've always just moved tangent to the radius, thus giving me the exact taper I want.  I would simply perform the move command from the endpoint of that segment and viola, it was done.  Obviously there are many other ways to perform this task, I just thought it curious that it didn't work all of a sudden.  I found a thread from a couple of years ago and they started having the same issue, but no resolution.

Post a file with he exact line and circle.

It may be that tangency can't be computed from the start point.

Try typing in plan

Then type in W for world

Then try to draw a line to a circle using the tan option.
