This can happen when using C3D.

The file may be corrupt.

If it responds:

  1. CAD Condom
    1. Purge, all
    2. Audit, yes
    3. Repeat Audit until no changes are made.
    4. -PURGE, R, *, N.
    5. Save.
  2. Close and reopen C3D.
  3. Recover the drawing.

The smooth operation of C3D requires good file management.

thank you for your response, if the file would open all the way so I can type the

"purge" in command line, then that would be ideal, but the file is not opening all the way.

Try doing RECOVER command.  This will check the drawing integrity.  If you suspect you could also use RECOVERALL, which will check the xrefs.

Have you tried INSERTing into a new drawing?

All,

I was not able to open the file fully to do any kind of copy to new drawing, nor do a purge.........

instead, I opened the drawing file I was working on in an earlier version.....weird.

I am currently working in 2024, but had to open it in 2022 which worked.

thank you all for coming to my rescue.

This reply reminds me that I actually had a similar situation a few weeks when a drawing refused to open in 2024, opened with no issues in 2023, saved it and then it opened in 2024 with no problems- odd

I did not read your original post carefully enough, to see that this was happening as the file was being opened.
