The video found here shows what I'm talking about. Is there a variable that toggles this on and off? Right now when I hover over the grips, nothing happens. I'm using Civil 3D 2017.

Thanks guys! I had no idea they used multigrip functionality. This is nice because I don't like the pop-ups but had no idea I could rotate them by hitting control while the grip is active. Thanks guys. I'll keep them hidden and use control from now on.

I did a blog post on this topic a while back: https://civil3dplus.wordpress.com/2011/04/12/my-gripe-with-grips/

If I was back in a production world, I would probably turn the menu off as well but, I don't recommend that for everyone. The problem with turning it off is you have to know what objects support multi-function grips and what those multi-function grips do. I recommend leaving them on for most people but don't be afraid of turning them off if you know what they all do.
