C3D 2027 text backgrounds displaying black

I installed C3D 2027 to test, and it works fine except in Paperspace. If I have text with a background mask applied, it will display black, leaving the text unreadable. See the attached picture.  It plots previews and plots correctly. I have tried turning off the hardware acceleration to no avail.  works perfectly in 2026. I have installed and reinstalled. not all text background it blacked out. I have a grading plan where the masked spot labels display correctly. It seems to be only the text background.(text and dimensions)

This seems to happen with every release.  what pc3 file are you using to plot?  I see that the dwg to pdf.pc3 file is using a new version of the plot driver compared to 2026, so it might be related.  but also verify that your plotter pdf settings are the same as they were in the previous version.

Yes, that's a very annoying bug that seemingly gets introduced with every version change and that's never adressed by Autodesk.

Because of stuff like this, I've started to, if possible, never change the Civil3d-version within a project.

Any chance those texts are an XRef? If so, one trick if I recall correctly, was changing the active layer to layer 0? Or was it changing the insertion-layer of the XRef to layer 0? Something wonky like that fixed it once for me.
