C3D 2018 Distorted text when printing

Anyone could help determine what might have caused text distortion once it gets rotated (looks fine unrotated)? I do rotation in Vport using Dview & Twist (see image to the left). Image to the right is a test using empty acadiso.dwt. Both are MTEXT's, both use standard Annotative text style, same print settings. Using 2018 version.

switch to SHX fonts and the problems should go away: TTF fonts do that when they are assigned a Z setting.

First half of your suggestion worked - changed to SHX and was fine. But could not really figure out with TTF. See screenshot attached of text properties. What should i change/modify here to get it working? Thanks!

Can you post a snippet of your DWG file with the text in question as a TFF?

Hey, see my first post had it. As I read in Wiki Arial is TFF. That is font used there. Thanks!

@pendean is asking for a small portion of you daring file. Not an image file (png) or PDF.

Hey, see attached drawing. Once you print it with current setting it will look distorted.

How are you rotating your viewport content?
I don't see a saved named UCS in your file.

It's the old civil engineering/surveying thing. According to lore, a UCS will corrupt or otherwise make a file unusable.. 😮

Many use dview with a twist and then set a snapang.

If they only new it was the same under the hood except you can name and save multiple UCS's to a file.

Rotation is done using DVIEW then Twist. We work in WCS.

Not exactly lore. Just that it hasn't applied since LDD. I had one engineer set a UCS near the beginning of a project. Switched back and forth a couple of times. I couldn't fix the drawing because anything he entered by bearing or coordinate while in a UCS was bogus as was anything based on it. It was as bad a Base Point North Rotation. Civil 3D isn't fooled by a UCS.

I took and at your file and I wanted to know what printer .pc3 file are you using to print? I used these setting below and got really good results with no distorted text when using the AutoCAD PDF (High Quality Print).pc3 driver. 

 

Printed results look like this using those settings.

If i use same pc3, quality is quite good (not as good as text that is not rotated though), but if I use .pc3 Plotter that has much lower quality i get rotated text very distorted, but not rotated one still good. I would like to have my files rather smaller and there is obvious issue with something here. Not sure what though. Cheers!

I think you will have to decide what works best for your situation but, I would try to adjusting those PDF options to see what you can live with in terms of file size and quality. Hopefully, someone else can offer another solution to this problem.
