C3D 2017 Function Keys

Here's a weird problem that just developed today:

All my function keys are screwed up! F3 is supposed to be the OSNAP toggle, but now it's that and the grid and the ortho! F6, F7 and F8 are the same way, they're now multiple toggles, and I have no clue how it got to be this way.

Any clue as to how to reset them?

Hello @andrew.robinson4HZXU

What AutoCAD product and Windows are you currently using? Where their any updates applied to your computer? Please review this solved <<post>> that is related to your issue where they set the TEMPOVERRIDES to 0. I hope this helps solve your problem.

I have 2017 version. It's never done this before, and I tried changing TEMPOVERRIDES to 0, but it was already set to that.

Thanks anyway, but it's still doing it. Any other thoughts?

Hello @andrew.robinson4HZXU

Please take a look at this AKN article Keyboard function keys do not work in AutoCAD to see if this can help. This article suggests Enable the F-Lock key on your keyboard. Give that a try and I hope that works.

I tried to follow the article, but my computer's control panel doesn't have anything that gives access to the function keys. I also tried finding the function key lock by holding down the "Fn" key and pressing what (I assume) is the function key lock button, but still nothing!

I don't not understand this. I do not know what I did to screw this keyboard up, but I can't get it to work now.

Just a shot in the dark, but did you try and shut down and start over? Test your function keys in another software? IE F5 is find and replace in word.

I have lost my keyboard in the past. I just shutdown (not restart) and its all good.

I saved my drawing and got out of AutoCAD, and when I re-started it the keys were back to their original settings! So, here's hoping they stay that way. Thanks to everyone who contributed ideas. Let's see if this fix is the one.
