C3D 2016 How do you add a drawing template

Hi can anyone help please _ in acad 2016 when I insert a template I usually right click on the layout tab then select "from template" which then directs me to the template folder but now for some unknown reason this no longer happens I am prompted in the command line to enter a file name ???

try setting filedia to 1
