BUG: Extracting solids from corridor data shortcut

Hi community,

looking for someone from Autodesk team to check my issue with extracting solids from data shortut corridor - I can solve the problem extracting solids in the source drawing but it is too much data in one file.

It is alo not possible to "promote" data shortcut in the new drawing - so you cannot simply copy corridor from one file to other.

See the steps how to get the error ...

Civil 2024 english version.

OK in the same drawing

  1. create a corridor
  2. exract solids from shapes (dynamic connection)
  3. check that extracted solids have Side property in extended data correctly set up (left / right)
  4. make some changes in corridor
  5. update corridor (automatically update solids)
  6. check that solids are on the correct Autocad layers - they are

ISSUE when using data shortcut

  1. create a corridor (drawing 1)
  2. create a data shortcut
  3. open new drawing (drawing 2)
  4. insert corridor data shortcut
  5. exract solids from shapes (dynamic connection)
  6. check that Side property is correctly set up for solids (left / right)
    1. NO IT IS NOT - Side is setup only for Right side - app seems not to distinguis side when extracting from data shortcut
    2. And also in some rare cases it has a problem with solids going from left to right side even when assembly is correctly composed
  7. make some changes in corridor (drawing 1)
  8. sync corridor - update corridor (automatically update solids) (drawing 2)
  9. check that solids are on the correct Autocad layers
    1. NO THEY ARE NOT - layer is changed to current drawing layer - so the layers are not preserved during syncinc 😞

Do you have similar experience guys? Or it is just me?

You're not going to be able to extract a solid from a data shortcut. It's a reference file, and only a reference file.

Sorry Todd, but I am totally able to extract solids from data shortcuts. That is why I describe the error in this post.

Jakub,

I can confirm that layers are lost when sycing a datashortcut. They revert to the current layer indeed.

This is clearly a bug.
