Binge Maps

Hi

I am using Autodesk Civil 3D 2023 and my online maps are not displaying. My drawing is Georeferenced and I have the Geolocation tab. I'm also signed in to the Autodesk Desktop App. When I go to options /System/ General , I don't have any hidden messages.

The GEOLOCATEMODE command shows =OFF(read only).

I get the message above when I try to launch GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION command. When I click Use Maps nothing happens. PLEASE HELP.

Many Thanks

Hi Mugisha,
A couple of questions. What coordinate system have you assigned? And did you try command GEOMAP?
Please post your drawing and a screen shot of ABOUT showing version/updates.

Mugisha,
OK, that coordinate system should get you rolling. Do you get the Bing Logo in lower right corner of drawing after using command GEOMAP?
To get Civil 3D version and updates, use command ABOUT.

Gerald,
Thanks for the screen shot of your version.
OK, since I can bring up Bing Live Maps with your drawing, we're on to the next level of troubleshooting. Are you on a company network? Most likely your Antivirus, firewall, or proxy server settings are blocking access.

I'm not on company wifi. I'm trying this with wifi at a cafe and my mobile hotspot.

Hi Dave

Allow me to bring the conversation here. I tried these steps:

1. Delete the LoginState.XML file from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services.(Don't worry, it'll be re-created)
2. Sign out of the Autodesk Desktop App and then sign back in.

But with little success. Any further assistance will be highly appreciated.

Gerald,
That's everything I can think of. The only thing left is to Re-install Civil 3D.

Hi @mugishagerald

Try this:

1. On command line enter MAPCSASSIGN=>Search UTM84-30=>Select UTM84-30N=>Click Assign

101.JPG

2. Zoom-out and find the RED Geomarker. Position the marker in the center of modelspace. Next, turn on Bing Maps.

3. After you turn on Bing Maps, you should see the Bing Logo in the lower right corner of modelspace.

<<You may also try the exact same procedure on a brand new, clean metric template. Then you can CUT from your original drawing and PASTE to the new drawing. Use 0,0 as the basepoint during the cut-and-paste operation.>>
