BIng Maps not working C3D 2017

Every time I start a new session of C3D I have to delete or rename my loginstate.xml file, or delete my webservices folder, to get the bing map underlay to load.  It will continue to work for the current session, but as soon as i close autocad (or crash autocad, hey it happens) i will have to repeat the process to get it to load again.  I've seen there are hotfixes for 2014/2015, anything posted for 2017 yet? Anyone else having this exact same issue?

I've looked the board over and over for a solution, but every one posted is only a very temporary fix.

I am assuming here you have your Autodesk account logged in when opening Civil 3D correct? And let me ask you, do you have any other Autodesk products, such as Map 3D, A360, etc, logged in by default every time you start a session?

I had this issue before, the way how I got it solved was by logging off all my apps, Autodesk Desktop App, Autodesk manager account, A360, Civil 3D... you get the point. I re-started my PC, I ran a repair on the Civil 3D 2017 install file, (re-started again my system), and then opened Civil 3D 2017 and log in into my account within that session, then in options, online tab, I linked my A360 account to my current Civil 3D session, from A360 I log in into all the other apps I use from Autodesk. After this process, I never had an issue like this again.

When for some reason I have bing maps not displaying (and is not a coordinate system issue), what I do is, I log off my account within Civil 3D, close that session, start Civil 3D again and log into my account there, and that's it.

Have you re-installed Civil 3D 2017 as a possible solution?

Hope this helps bud! Good luck.

Thanks for the reply!

I do have other autodesk applications, map, 3ds, etc... but i primarily use civil 3d.  Yeah I've tried logging out of everything directly, the only fix is deleting my loginstate.xml, or the entire webservices directory.  Even if i log out prior to closing C3D i'll have to do the workaround.  I haven't tried reinstalling C3D yet, was hoping to find a solution prior to that.  I'll give the reinstall a go and see what happens next.

I'm having the same issue here in both 2016 and 2017.

Very annoying trying to figure out the perfect sequence of events to fix this.

The problem is to do with the 'Autodesk desktop app'.

If you sign out of this and then back in it will show the maps, its a lot less frequent if you sign out and then back in of the 'Autodesk desktop app' rather than deleting the xml file.

I asked Autodesk to fix the problem of continuously being signed out and that's the solution they came up with, it does work.

The pc I'm dealing with presently doesn't have the Desktop App installed.

Should I install it?

its a good bit of software (apart from messing up geolocation online access) it controls all the updates, hotfixes etc for the autodesk software you have installed).

I'm also still having the same issue, my resolution has been to sign out of A360 at the end of the day, and sign back in the next morning.

When you say "sign out of A360", where are you doing that at?

I can't even get 2017 to sign in. When we try signing in, we get to a "sync" message. If we hit Ok not to sync, it goes back to the sign in box.

Never ending loop.

Top Right of the Autocad window.  I do have the autocad desktop app installed, but i sign in/out directly in autocad.  If you're signed out try rebooting and sign back in first thing.  I get the same circuitous message unless i sign out right before i close all sessions of acad for the day

Rebooted the pc, opened C3D, immediately tried to sign in to my account.

Same circuitous message, but refuses to sign in.

I didn't want to install the Autodesk App on all user pc's, but it's looking like I may have to. Smiley Frustrated

One other interesting thing of note is the user I have with the issue this morning said it worked fine last week.

Comes in this morning and no go.

But I am testing it on another pc and having the same issue.

did you try (while logged out) to delete the loginstate.xml file located at

C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services,

then try to log in?

Yep.

Rebooted the pc again, deleted the log in files.

Opened C3D, tried to log in to my account.

No go.

I even checked the box to sync my files, even though I have nothing to sync.

Still won't log in from within C3D.

First thing you need to do is to exit out of C3D
In your task bar, in the icon tray next to the clock, you should be able to find a little icon for A360 (looks like a tornado)
Right click on it and go to preferences
click on sign out
Right click on the icon again and select Exit
Go to the start menu and find the Autodesk folder and select Autodesk 360
sign in with your credentials.
Open C3D back up again and it should have you now signed in, and able to see the aerial.
