Bing Imagery Not showing Corrected Extents of UTM Zone

I'm setting up two drawings for two projects in Florida (Zones FL83-NF and FL83-EF). My template is setup in Mississippi (MS-83-WF) when I try to start a new drawing and select the new coordinate systems the Bing imagery is not showing the correct extents and no combination of the varying zones covers the locations I am looking for.

What is going on here?

Thanks,

I'm wondering why you would set up templates in older datums vs. converting old data to the current datum?

Absolutely nothing collected in the field on the FDOT Network (FPRN) is in that datum. The data provided by FPRN is NSRS2011 and that data being sent to the data collectors based on the Geoid 18. Which FDOT provides downloadable Datacollector setups for Trimble, Lieca and Carlson.

Hi Levi, just curious, but which areas are your projects located?  That'd give us a better idea of which coordinate system you're looking for.

One project is right outside of Gainesville, FL and another outside of Marianna, FL. I'm not opposed to using other coordinate system this is just the system I'm familiar with in MS.

Using a google search, I was able to find the following:

It looks like FL is separated into the 3 zones (which is not very intuitive).  Using that I was able to located Gainsville FL within the FL83-WF coordinate system:

And Marianna FL in the FL83-NF:

@v-silvestre the data provided will still be in NSRS2011 from any surveyor in FL using the correct geoid. There is no reason to publish NEW engineering data in the system the data was not collected in.

As I say this there are surveyors that use RTK in FL and still use the OLD datum and that is wrong

@v-silvestre, thank you for your comment. Were you able to locate these in the template that I shared or a separate drawing? My issues are that in my template when I select the coordinate systems specified the imagery is not at the correct extents. See snippet below.

Hi Levi,
OK, I think I understand now. Use command GEOREMOVE and then try again to assign the FL83-EF coordinate system.

Hi @levi2FNWQ, yes those snippets where from a drawing created from your template:

vsilvestre_0-1702478753156.png

I've attached the drawing as well.  One thing to note, instead of just switching the coordinate system, I used the "Remove Location" button before setting the new one.  I'm wondering if that might be the reason why your map is showing different extents.

@rl_jackson, I'll be honest, as for the maps I previously posted, that was just to get an idea of how FL was separated into different zones to try and figure out what CS to use for the city's that Levi was asking about.

Selecting the "Remove Location" button appears to be what was missing in my work flow. I've now been able to make it work

Thank you for the help.
