Automatically generate boundaries for surface from 3d faces

I'm creating a surface from 3d faces (triangles) and was wondering if there was a way to only generate a tin from the visible triangles? ie automatically create a boundary for the tin?

Often my tin will have holes and separated areas, but Civil3d will always join them up. I know I can use tools like LINEWORKSHRINKWRAP etc, but I need it to be an automated process. All it needs to do is only create the TIN from the data it's provided. Other packages have a "triangles only" option but Civil3d doesn't seem to do it.

Any help appreciated. I'm not adverse to lisp or .net code if I need to - it just needs to be automatic. I'm using 2018.

Rainer,

Adding those 3D Faces to your Surface as Drawing Objects doesn't work?3DFaces.png

Hi Joe,

OK, I see now. I don't know any way to do that automatically.
