Autodesk technical support(has anyone else found that they suck)

Hi fellow drafters, I was finally able to get Autodesk to take my computer over twice....uninstall and reinstall CIVIL3D....So far the second time seemed to work....I now have an issue with etransmit failing

I have called Autodesk technical support every day for 2- 3 weeks and always get the same result. The conversation starts by asking what the issue is, they create a ticket and say someone will call me in a couple days...It never happens. So after a week of these games I am told that their supervisor expedited my ticket, should be contacted in a couple days...never happened...So next person says "oh yeah, I see your tickets apparently these people are not familiar with our new system so I will put a note to call you after 5:00 PM. Never heard from anyone! So now I have gone online and created more tickets for the same issue hoping that maybe if I aggravate the $h!& out of them, perhaps someone will actually contact me within a year!!

It just seems ridiculous that I have paid Autodesk $10,400 (in a 2-1/2 year period) for their software and am about to give them another grand for 2019 and cannot even get tech support to do what they say they are going to do, like actually call me!

I am actually being calm about this, I am not extremely angry 'yet', but has anyone else experienced this??

Hey E

Actually my experience over the past 20 years has been quite the opposite. I’ve received many courteous, competent and timely responses. Sorry you experienced this. Have you tried your re-seller? Typically they give you service and should have a direct line to New Hampshire.

No Joe, I actually do not remember who I initially bought the product from. I thought Autodesk was one company and did not realize that the original seller may be able to help me out. I do however find it to be amazing that as soon as I posted this on the forum I received a call from an Autodesk representative from Singapore who took over my computer. We figured out together that my virus slayer is interfering with my etransmit command. In my opinion, it is very sad and unfortunate that I have to jump through hoops, make multiple phone calls, create online tickets, and make a forum post to finally get a call from Autodesk tech support. Oh well it is what it is.

Hi @ESchomberg

Sorry to hear of your trouble trying to get the technical support for your Civil 3D issue and we apologize for the delay in getting back to you! Good to hear that someone from our Singapore office called you and helped you identify the problem. We have forwarded your feedback to the product support team to work on the service improvement. Thank you so much for your patience!

Hi Eric,

Apologies for the hiccups again. I'm glad we managed to narrow down the issue.

Temporarily turning off/deactivate your Anti-spyware seemed to helped for now.

I've tried to exclude the AutoCAD folder and all .DWG files in the scanning software but it doesn't work, so it may be a good idea to contact the company and see what they say.

Let us know.

It doesn't matter who you originally purchased from. You can get your contract assigned to a local reseller; this is usually a good thing as they're normally focused on the prominent local industries and in your time zone. If they don't have an immediate solution, then they can do some of the legwork getting the support issues filed and re-raised if they aren't resolved.

Of course, just because they're Autodesk doesn't mean they'll have an immediate solution (although it's good your problem did). Some things are simply beyond their ability to fix or find - such is the case with software. Most of my problems end up like that, but it's always been courteous.
