Something is up with AutoCAD on my computer. I will give you all the information I have, and hope you can give some good suggestions. This isn't the first time my autocad has frozen/crashed several times a day requiring restarts and many lost hours every week, but I thought I had fixed it for good until it came back this time. The issue last time was a system default that was requiring AutoCAD to regen layouts every time I selected one. This issue is a lot harder to narrow down, but I will post the issues, and my hardware specs below. I do not believe it is a hardware problem, my computer is the best in our office on paper, yet my coworker's "inferior" computer never has had the problems that I have, nor do I when I use her computer.
Issues:
- "Error Occured During Save..." message a few times a day. Even when I run recover.
- Disappearing surface only on my computer. My computer completely forgets what is in the surface, but the surface name still shows up in the toolspace. It magically reappears on other computers.
- Selecting blocks freezes my computer until I end AutoCAD, but everyone uses these same blocks
- Undo commands freeze my computer until I end AutoCAD
- Join completely wrecks my computer, even when lines are flattened, exploded, then joined
- Copy or Move will "drop" selected items and they disappear when I pan while in command.
- System defaults are constantly changing, some that I notice more than others are pickfirst, filedia, snapang in mid command, and the regen layouts default I mentioned earlier.
These issues almost never occur at the same time, but it only takes one to incapacitate my computer. This is not an exhaustive list, and I will update it as a notice more issues.
Hardware:
CPU- Intel Xeon CPU ES 1067- v3 @3.10 GHZ 64bit OS
RAM- 32 GB
Graphics Card-Nvidia Quadro K2200
Please give me any ideas you have, even if you aren't sure. Thank you!
