AutoCAD C3D 2013 locks up when freezing layers or regen in second viewport

Hi all,

I'll do my best to explain my issue, I have a plan and profile dwg set up from a template I created and currently I have two viewports. One for surface and the other for underground, both plan view, and I have no issues freezing and thawing layers in the surface viewport however as soon as I try to freeze certain layers or just try to Esc out of the freeze command while in the underground viewport the dwg locks up and just loads forever. Also I have no issues REA in the surface viewport but the underground will go into the same forever loading state. I am able to turn on and off layers in model space with no issues and have even tried using another computer and still have the same problem. I have tried purging, audit, detach xrefs, explode blocks, turing off hardware acceleration, recreating the viewport but with no success.

I appreciate any help

Can you post a drawing.

Does the viewport have a layout scale bar or north arrow dynamically attached?

Oh wow cant believe that that was the issue, I had a north arrow linked to the other viewport and that fixed it. I am used to C3D 2015 and it did not have that issue so I did not even think of that. Thanks a bunch!!
