Assembly - various layers geometry in cut and fill

Hi Community!

I need an advice from You again.

Is there a possibility to setup assembly to deal with such situation using only basic subasseblies (first want to try without any customs from SAC)? (see picture)?

I was trying to do something with conditional cut/fill but how to determine various geometry of bottom superstructures layers?

Please help, if it is not possible using generic subassemblies how dea with it with SAC.

Hi @krzysztof.psujek,

 

I think this is doable. I don't have my laptop to test right now but you can add conditional cut and fill and attach it to both end of your dimension after 0.25 on each side and make cut and fill condition.

 

Also as a guide, please see this <thread link>. I post a screencast there about conditional cut and fill subassembly and that may give you some idea as well. I showed how to add the extend pavement slope as fill condition.

Hi @Jowennl, thanks for your answer.

I know Cut and fill subassembly, I am using it quite often. The same is for ExtendAll shoulder.

But have problem with this particular case when bottom layers (green and white solid hatches on scheme) are different in cut and fill (different thickness and completely other shape)

so I don't know how to bite it.

Hi @krzysztof.psujek / Chris,

 

How about use a marked point? Then make condition attached to that top surface and re-create all the pavement depth based on the condition. Please see concept below. Since I don't have your assembly I made my own just as a concept.

I can only advice a concept as I don't have a copy of your drawing or assembly. But I think if the pavement depth is different / vary all through out then you may need to make a mark point and make the condition and target back to mark point and re-build base on cut fill condition. Hope this helps.

Yeah thanks for idea. 

I'm also trying to get this work with some generic links and marked points but it seems you are a little bit further than me. 

I can achieve most of things I need, but how you did shapes on your sections?

As I see You understood the problem well.

 

Can you post  or send me your example drawing? It will tell me much more than your descriptions.

I've got problems with set invert slope for shoulder layers (1:1 into 1:-1 can't make it work).

I've got only temporary file with my tries inside so it is nothing special, and it won't tell give You any new knowledge about problem.

Aaaa OK, I've do it in other way but You did it simpler. I use links for each layer but ...

I like your approach, it's smart 🙂

I did it much more complicated, and can't get shapes then.

Unfortunatelly new problem appears when we are in low fill (less than sum of all superstructure layers). Then it will be a separate condition, don't know how it should looks like then.
