Annotative Text in Paperspace Not Working

I've got a problem with my plan production templates. Annotative text does not work in paperspace for the paperspaces I created.

I'm having a hard time figuring-out what the culprit is.

If I create a new paperspace, annotative text works. But I'd really like to not recreate all the paperspaces I'd need to in all my plan production templates. So far, I've just switched to nonannotative text for any text that I need to put in PS, but this has been annoying me, and it ain't right.

In the attached dwt, I purged everything I could and isolated one paperspace "PROBLEM" that has annotative text at the wrong scale and created a new paperspace "OKAY" with annotative text working well.

What is the difference between the two paperspaces? Is there something that I can do to the PS "PROBLEM" that makes it behave like "OKAY"?

TIA

You can't use annotative text in paper space. Its made to use in model space and/or through a viewport in paper space.  If you notice there is no annotative scale when you are in paper space, only in model space or when you are in a viewport.

Let me clarify one thing. The only annotative scale in paperspace that does work is 1:1.

Yeah. Okay. Thanks for that.

I guess let me reword the problem:

The text, that is annotative by style, comes in larger than intended on the "PROBLEM" paperspace and the intended size (0.1" tall) on the "OKAY" paperspace.

If you look at the properties palette with nothing selected in your problem layout the annotative scale of the layout is 1"=10' instead of 1"=1'.  I don't know of anyway to change the layout annotative scale unless you have some 3rd party app or some other program that did that.

Hey, thanks. That's definitely the problem. I bet this had something to do with purging scales from my templates. I wanted to have just one scale for each plan production template at that scale. Maybe a 1:1 or a 1" = 1' one is meant to be for paperspace and I broke it trying to get rid of it? If I figure out how to fix this, I'll post here.

Wow, didn't realize that could even happen. That's the great thing about this group. All kinds of stuff to learn.

I'm using 2023 - has there been a simpler process developed yet to resolve the annotative scale grayed-out issue in paperspace?  I'm still super blown-away that this wasn't identified right away years ago and resolved, as I currently see 1"=200' in my paperspace properties but unable to change it without unlocking the viewport at which point its scale changes along with the properties field being changed . . . oy gavult . . . WHY WOULD ANYBODY NEED TO USE AN ANNOTATIVE SCALE OTHER THAN 1"=1" IN PAPERSPACE?  Sorry for the vent, just tired of running into this issue.
