Annotation Scale

Annotation Scale

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have an Alignment in my model file "A" and when I change Annotation scale at the status bar I can see that text rescales as it should.

When I use this model file as external reference in another file "B" changing Annotation scale in status bar does not change appearence of the text of the referenced model file "A". But it shows ok in paper Space.

Is there a way to be able to see how annotativ objects change in model space when they are referenced in other files?

Please see the pic!

Work in modelspace by using Maximize Viewport (_VPMAX command) from a Layout tab.

Because you can make the xref labels scale correctly only when you are working on a Layout tab, here's a workaround: Activate a Layout tab. Set the scale for the viewport...the labels look good, right? Now, instead of going back to the Model tab, use Maximize Viewport.  It will be like working on the model tab, but you will have the labels synched to the current viewport scale. You cannot change this scale while inside VPMAX, but you can use Minimize Viewport (_VPMIN command) to go back to regular Paperspace.

When a Layout tab is active, on the Status Bar there will be an icon that toggles between Maximize Viewport and Minimize Viewport.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Here is my opinion about this. Use data shortcut instead of using xref of an alignment.

Here is the reason:

Opt 1 - Export C3D to ACAD and use this as xref and this will work if you add manual anno scale and this is a static copy of your live alignment.

Opt 2 - Use alignment as data shortcut -  This is the exact copy of your live alignment and will always be dynamic.

Opt 3 - Use live C3D alignment as xref - This will not update in scale as you've shown already.

So I recommend to use Opt 2. See attached animated gif and guide images below.
