Alignment stationing

Hi,

I have a problem in providing stationing and stationing equations to a particular alignment which I am working with.

I have received an existing rail center line with rail elevations at varying nodes(approx 20m intervals). And I need to give stationing in reference to the KM posts available in the site. Here there a specific problem in relation to the KM posts is that the distance between two successive KM posts is not 1000m it is either above that or below that. If I am going continuously along 20 Km stretch I am getting a cumulative error at the end which is very high up to 500m.

So, I have to give Bychainges at each KM post. Means I have to give station equations at each KM in such a way that elevations also modifying in that manner. Is it possible to give as desired???

Please suggest a workflow.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

One thing you could try is to create two alignments, one with the chainage equation applied and the other without.

Then create or edit an alignment label, and in the layout tab of the Label Style Composer add "reference text" and choose "Alignment". Then in the contents add "Station Value". You can also add "Raw Station" for reference.

A similar label can also be used for the profile view.
