each time I assign a style to the alignment label and drag it out (the green one), a new label with another label style would appear to the point I want to label. what is going on here? any ideas? Thx!
Any chance the alignment label settings are labeling that segment twice?
or, the site is giving it a parcel segment label?

Dear Friend,
As @MMcCall402 has proposed check whether you have duplicates on the labels. Go to alignment labels properties and check you have repeated data in the highlighted fields in the image.
