Hi @banumathi_m, welcome to the Autodesk Civil 3D forums.

That happens when you are trying to delete a PI that helps your geometry to be generated as a whole. I mean, without that PI you are trying to get rid of another curve on your alignment might not be able to be created. For instance, if you erase the PI, then the deflection of a previous curve becomes 180 degrees.

I hope this helps. Best regards!

You can also use some of the tools on the Alignment editor tab to help you understand the geometry of your alignment. If you are unable to delete the PI itself, then it may a Sub-Enity you may need to delete instead (line or curve). Or, recreate your alignment geometry so that it fits.

Hi Banumathi,

Welcome to the Civil 3D forum! 😊

In addition to the excellent suggestions Camilo and Ian provided, I recommend looking at this thread. It all depends on what you’re trying to achieve.

I hope this helps!

If none of the above suggestions work, would it be possible to share your drawing so that others can take a look at your alignment, there may be some other underlying cause to why the PI you want to delete cannot be deleted.
