Alignment Centerline vs Offset

I am using a file created by someone else.  The curb alignments are individual proposed centerline alignments instead of offsets attached to the main alignment.  I'll be generating profiles, assemblies, corridors, intersections, surface models etc.  I have 5 different roads each with curbs on both sides.  Is there a way to attach the curb alignments to the main centerline without having to reset up all their beginning and end points?  Do I even need to or as a continue through the work flow or just leave them as is.  I don't foresee the alignments of the roads changing but I would really like the alignments to be attached.  In the alignment properties dialog box I can change the alignment type to an offset, but did not find how to attach it to the main alignment.Thoughts?

For an Offset Alignment to be attached to a Centerline (or any other) Alignment, it must be created using Offset Alignment command (_CreateOffsetAlignment), not just designated as an Offset Alignment using the regular Alignment creation tools. Be sure to turn on the option to Create profile for offset alignment, found on the Create Offset Profile tab.

Typically, Connected Alignments (returns) are connected to Offset Alignments. Use the _AeccCreateAlignmentConnected command.

So these alignments cannot be 'turned into' offset alignments that are attached to the Centerline and down the line I am better off to have proper offset alignments for things like returns.  I guess the easiest why to go about this is to add the curb offsets to the centerline alignments properly and delete the current curb alignments.  Second part of question was, if I have to create the offsets, is there a quick way to match the current curb alignments.  Maybe make a feature line off it, delete it, then use the feature line to make the offset to the centerline alignment?  Thoughts?

To properly create Offset Alignments, you need to use the Create Offset Alignment function. Be sure to create profiles with them, as described above.

After creating the Offset Alignments, create the Connected Alignments. These should be attached to your Offset Alignments, not to Centerline Alignments.

There is no shortcut to turning your pre-existing alignments into attached Offset Alignments. Bite the bullet, go through the proper steps.
